Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

excess funds

My mother died, in TX-no will, 5 children. Property was taken & sold for back taxes due. There is an excess monies being held by the court. How can I claim for medical / funeral expenses I incurred out of pocket that I paid personally for her when she couldn't. none of my siblings have $ to do anything else, like claim heirship. I live in Alaska.

Re: excess funds

If money is being held by the court, that means her case is open somewhere. You may be able to simply file a claim for reimbursement with that court.

Depending upon the excess after that, an affidavit of heirship may suffice.
