final distribution of money

If the deceased has money leftover and it was paid out to the estate of. How can the children of the decease cash or deposit the cashiers check?

Can the executer of estate transfer the check to another family member?

If the estate has been entered into pobate, and an executor named and has letter testamentary, the executor can deposit the check into an estate account and then make distribution in accordance with the terms of the will.

If the estate hasn't been entered into probate, no one has the authority to cash the check.

The executor has the responsibility to distribute the funds to the heirs in the proportionate shares they are to receive. The executor should have an "estate" account in which to deosit the funds for the purpose of distribution.
