Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Financial Hardship - Options?

Recently a family member died without leaving a will. He had no other living relatives besides me. The city where he lived has been mowing his house's lawn since I am in another city. They say the charges for it would be taken out of the estate, however, I am a senior and have a very limited income. I have not been able to find an attorney to represent me without paying a large retainer fee. I do not want these ''maintenance'' charges to keep adding up. What are my options if any?

Re: Financial Hardship - Options?

Where is the property located? What is the value of the property. In many populated areas of texas you can ascertain what the tax value is of the property by going to the appraisal district's web site. You are going to have to be more specific for anyone to give you meaningful help.
