Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Power after Illness

My mother--name removed---name removed--completely unable to care for her self due to a diabetic comma. She did not have a power of attorney statement prior to her illiness. Currently I have her in a long care facility in Keene, Texas. Because she--name removed--only able to open her eyes and has no cognitive or self directed motor skills, how can I get the ability to handle her legal affairs? Her condition--name removed---name removed--non reversible.

Re: Power after Illness

You would need to go into Probate Court and obtain guardianship/conservatorship power over your mother and her property. Since she is living in Texas, you need to consult with an attorney in Texas.
