Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Any suggestions for making a request for discretionary distribution from US Trust?

Trust is in Texas, I am 45 and have never made a request. The trust began in 1971. There is the clause in the trust for discretionary distribution for standard of living, care, health, and welfare and the request for the trustee to be liberal in determining requests.

A basic outline or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

If you are the trustee, you can do the distribution yourself. If you are not the trustee, then you must ask the trustee to make the distribution.

Making a distribution in your behalf with a HELMS trust (which is what you have here) should not be a problem, simply distribute the money to yourself (if you are the trustee) or ask for the money.
