Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

will

Do I need to probate my mother's will? I am the executor, the only things she owned were a travel trailer worth about $20,000 a car worth about $5,000 and a small account. Can I just sign the title over to the buyer of the travel trailer and the car as executor?

Re: will

You can't sign the title. You are not the owner. You're an executor of the estate. That doesn't make you the owner of anything. You can obtain forms for the DOT which would allow you to change the ownership to you and then transfer if you wish. However, that won't work for the account. You will have to get an affidavit of heirship from the probate court. This will likely cost you some money. Filing fees at least if you can figure out how to do this.

good Luck.
