Legal Question in Workers Comp in Texas

I hired a guy to install a floor for me at my house. He was the mainatence guy for the building management where my company rent office space.

His current employer found out that he was doing a side job and fired him. It is against thier policy for him to accept a side job. He also claimed an injury to his arm before he started my project. His old employer tells me he is filing a Workmans comp claim against them. They have asked me to answer some questions about the job he did for me and sign a document. Am I exposed to any legal action?
