Legal Question in Family Law in Trinidad and Tobago

2 marriages trinidad/canada

my husband and i married in

trinidad. we unfortunately are

married (and separated from) to

people in canada. we now have a

problem. do we divorce each other

in trinidad first, then proceed to

divorce our first spouses, THEN

marry each other again, and can he

start divorce proceedings for his

first wife (who had claimed on last

speaking to her that she was

leaving canada for another country)

in trinidad and divorce her from

trinidad? for myself, i won't have a

problem divorcing my first husband

because it's been 25 years since

i've seen him, for my second

husband he's been apart from the

first wife since 4 months after the

marriage in october 2004 and has

been in trinidad since 2005.

Re: 2 marriages trinidad/canada

1. you would need to divorce your first spouses and annul your second marriages.

2. your divorces/annulments can be done in Canada although you were married in Trinidad.
