You have not mentioned as to whether your Wife has initiated any steps for getting Divorce and if so where, as your present location is seen as UAE. Also there is no mention as to the grounds on which she is seeking divorce.

A fair opinion can be given only on getting the abovesaid information. The proper procedure for your wife to get a Divorce, if she is in India, is first by sending you a Legal Notice mentioning the reasons due to which she is seeking Divorce and then to approach a competent Family Court/ Jurisdictional Court. If you are not in favour of the divorce, you may oppose the same and file your Counter, first as Reply Notice (to the Advocate Notice) and then oppose the same in the Court, engaging a Advocate for the same. If you have children then the question of custody of children and their maintenance would also arise. If your wife is at UAE and wants to get Divorce at UAE, then she has to inform the Court as to whether she wants the local laws or her personal laws(laws in India) to be applicable and then the procedure would depend on the Laws adopted. You may counter the same accordingly.

For getting a Divorce, your Wife should have a valid legally acceptable reason. You may however keep trying for mediation and compromise with your wife, which may materialise if you put in your sincere efforts.

Please be guided accordingly.
