Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in United States Virgin Islands

Estate WIthout A Will !

My Father passed away in the Virgin Islands St.Croix, and I live in FLorida,I am his next of kin but do not reside in V.I.. My aunt resides in St Croix and she stated in order to sell his car and other belongings she will need power of attorney. I do beleive a power of attorney is not valid after death,Is that correct?

You are correct. The estate will need to be admitted to probate.
