Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Utah

Can creditors garnish Social Security payments? I am a senior who just had a Chapter 13 case dismissed (which was almost paid off) as a result of following my lawyer's directions He was filing motions and told me not to pay anything while pending. Court dismissed the case for non-payment and I was never given an opportunity to pay it off or receive an extension like the lawyer said I would. $3000/3years down the drain not inc court fees etc. Lawyer and trustee were paid in full tho... was just hidden fees for $600 left!!! To say I'm upset is putting it politely.

You can apply for the case to be reinstated with the bankruptcy court. Since you are so close to completion the court should allow you to reinstate the case and finish your plan.
