Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Utah

I'm trying to get a divorce, my husband took me out of the house three weeks ago, he wants to give back the few things he gave me during the time of our marriage as the cell phone. He threatened me saying he can accuse me of stealing him. I changed my phone number, he is still trying to have some communication with me through my e-mail. I try not to answer him because on his e-mails he threat me insults me sometimes, and other times he is extra quiet in the divorce papers he states things that are not true or omitted important information also for not taking responsibility . I'm confused because he knows I have no money to pay a lawyer and he continues to bother me.

If you cannot find a divorce lawyer or get legal aid (Utah Legal Services) then get the court to order mediation and see what can be done there to resolve the problems. You are entitled to all of your property, half of all of the property you and your husband acquired together, possibly alimony and child support if you have children.

You will have to go to court and prepare papers for the court to read about your issues. You may be able to find a service that will help prepare the paper work, but are not lawyers.
