Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Utah

Flyers and Signs on Private Property

I'm wondering what the law is on people leaving notes and flyers on my door and car, is it illegal to put these things on my private property and if it is what do I do.

Re: Flyers and Signs on Private Property

Most municipalities have laws which regulate "hand bills" however, they are difficult to enforce. In a practical sense there is nothing you can do to prevent bills being placed on your car, unless you see the person responsible. Then tell them not to put one on your car, and/or report them to the police. As for your home you can post "No Trespassing" signs and then prosecute anyone you catch on your property.
