Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Utah

I am eighteen and I live in utah. A couple weeks ago I went to walmart with my boyfriend to get cough medicine. While we were there he met up with a friend who offered to buy him beer. When we got outside the walmart security guy stopped us and we dropped the beer and ran but later got caught. I was never in possession of the beer and it wasn't my money or my idea. I have court tomorrow and I am wondering what I should plea?

Plead not guilty. At your next court date talk to the prosecutor to see if he will give you a deal.
