Legal Question in Criminal Law in Utah

i live in utah and i got caught shoplifting at walmart not too long ago and i am planning on moving to California my question is if i move and not tell the judge and go to California to takke care of it are they going let me or are they going to make me move back to take care of it??

The case will not move to California just because you do. It will remain in the same Utah court. You will have to deal with it there regardless of where you live.

Just to clarify: the *prosecution* will stay put in Utah. My prior answer assumed that the charges against you are still pending.

If you have already been convicted (after a trial or a plea) and are on probation, you may be able to have your probation moved to California. You should discuss your planned move with your lawyer asap, since these things take time. It's also possible that moving without telling your probation officer in advance would violate your probation.
