Legal Question in Insurance Law in Vermont

Rotting House

I have a question about a part of my mother's house that has been subject to serious water damage because of vinyl siding that was put on the house some 20 years ago. She has had an homeowners insurance policy with the same company for over 30 years and has yet to make a claim and is not sure if she can with this particular problem. The estimate for the rotting walls underneath the vinyl siding is $6,000 and she is wondering if the insurance company would cover that cost claiming that the siding was attached wrong letting water slowly rot away the wood over the last 20 years. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated - Thanks

Re: Rotting House

Although you should check the wording of the policy I doubt it covers this type of loss.
