I am the buyer of a car my ex-boyfriend is co-buyer- I have paid 18K on the car for 3 1/2 years now with 2 more years left to payoff and he wants his name off of the contract or possesion even though he has not paid any money on the vechile- is this legal in VA

Only if the lender wants to allow it (the co-buyer to be off the contract for

the sale of the car).
