Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Virginia
Case Number
I have retained a lawyer, I owe him 650 dollars (which has to be paid in full before filing), and I am currently working on my paperwork for him to file my bankruptcy, can a creditor hold me liable for my debt until I have a case number? Also, by law, do they have to contact my lawyer instead of me while I am waiting for my lawyer to file my petition, or can they contact me until my case is filed? Thank you!
