Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia

I have an auto repair shop and renewed the contract for three years in last May. In last Nov, I received a surprise letter from a new owner telling me that they purchased the building and informed me to pay rental to their account. The previous owner never infomed me. Now I got problem, I planed to sell my shop this year so I signed the contract, but now I can't sell it because the building will no longer use for the same business purpose in the near future. If I can't sell my business, I still wants to end the contract this year since I have some health problem. In the contract, the previous owner did all the protection in favor of himself because he knew from the very beginning as I checked on county website, the re zoning decition was made in March last year. What can I do? Thanks

Did you call the new owner of the building? In my experience, most of the time a phone call and conversation solves most problems. Consider if one of your younger employees would like to take over the business and you can find a place to relocate the shop, and you can work part-time and get some money out of the business, and a younger person will be able to start their own business.
