Legal Question in Business Law in Virginia

Embezzlement Question

My business partner embezzled about $20-$30K from our business account. I have contacted many of the hotels, airlines, and stores where he spent the money for copies of the receipts. However, they have declined to provide them to me citing my partner's right to privacy. What do I need to do to get these businesses to provide me with copies of the receipts? Many said if my partner gave them a release form they would be happy to help, but I really do not see him doing that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Embezzlement Question

If you sue your partner you should be able to subpeona this information from the businesses. Good luck.

Re: Embezzlement Question

How did your partner pay for these items? If there is litigation, the hotels, etc. might be subjected to subpoena.
