Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Virginia

Ban from church property

I have been banned permanently by a church, where I had been attending for about 12 years.

Can they do this without giving me a reason and/or a chance to answer to whatever their reason for the ban is?

Yes,(assuming that the church is an entirely private

entity/facility), I would say that they can.

Re: Ban from church property

Churches are private property. They can ban anyone they want from their facilities without giving a reason. They don't even need to *have* a reason.

Offhand I'm not sure whether churches are even subject to anti-discrimination laws. They are certainly free to enforce discriminatory religious doctrines, even if such discrimination by other organizations would be illegal. The First Amendment prevents the government from interfering in such matters.
