Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

I bought a car from an individual and put less than 30 Miles on the car before the car started acting up. Upon taking it to the shop I was told that there are cracks in the head of the car causing it to lose compression. Is there any legal recourse for me or did I just get took?
