Legal Question in Consumer Law in Virginia

Serving a Registered Agent

I am trying to have a company served in the state of Virginia. I obtained the name of the company's registered agent from the state clerk's office and provided the information (name/address) on the Warrant in Debt. When the sheriff tried to serve the warrant he somehow determined the townhouse listed was vacant. Now I have 90 days to find this guy. If this is the only listed registered agent the state has for this company how do I go about finding him? Or can I serve someone else? Thanks for your help!

Re: Serving a Registered Agent

Hire a Virginia PI to ferret out either the registered agent or a company official who can be served with the papers.(Company registered agents come and go and the SCC is often not updated, and therefore it's not surprising that the information may no longer be valid.)
