Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Creditor Harrasment

Background: I was past due to VW Credit for 2 car payments. They called on 11/06/08 at my work phone and I arranged one payment for 11/07/08 and agreed to pay the next on 11/21/08. At that time I also updated my contact information, giving them my cell number and asking them to use it to contact me and not my work number. The payment was cleared through my bank on 11/10/08. They called me again on 11/07/08 at my work number, I reverified my contact information with them and again asked them to use my cell # only to contact me. They called me again at my work number on 11/10/08 and again on 11/12/08.

My question is this. The date VW Credit and I agreed to for the next payment has not yet arrived, they know my cell number and yet they continue to call my work phone. What can I do to them for this. It is jeopardizing my employment.

Re: Creditor Harrasment

It may be best to have an attorney send them a letter on your behalf, to attempt to stop this kind of harassment. Also, make sure you document everything, names, dates, what said, etc, in case you end up in court.
