Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Virginia

Does legal conversion apply to a student loan that was not completely used to pay for school expenses? I cosigned a loan for family and found out the check went directly to student and not to pay the school for tuition. Do I have a case?

That's the way student loan funds are quite often delivered from the lending source, i.e., directly to the student.

Does this amount to conversion, legally speaking. Not a chance (in my opinion).
