Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

do I need an attorney?

I was recently arrested for domestic assult. My girlfriend and I were arguing and she wrecked the house, throwing things at me and all over. I grabbed her.She had no red marks, no brusies, was not hurt, only scared. She called the police and they told me someone had to go to jail. My girlfriend has left town for a week and we have decided to work things out. She is prepared to go to court with me and we both are gonig to anger management classes. Do I need an attorney for this case? The bond is set at 2500 dollars and the arresting officer told me it could be throne out. If I dont need an attorney what steps should I take when goning tthew the court process?

Re: do I need an attorney?

Normally it is up to the Commonwealth's Attorney whether or not the charges are dropped. I would recommend consulting an attorney.
