Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Can I be called as a witness?

I quit a job in april of '06. I was doing a bookkeeping job . In July, after I left my old boss came to me and said the police may come to question me about money missing. And he asked me some questions. I told him I had nothing to hide because I had no idea what he was talking about. Anyway they had a girl I worked with there arrested in july for embezzlement . They have never questioned me about it. But this girl is calling me and telling me I am being called as a witness. I dont even know what happened so how can I be a witness? She goes to court November 2, 2006. What should I expect to happen ?

Re: Can I be called as a witness?

It may be that you will be called at the trial as a defense witness for the girl who has been charged even though in your mind you know nothing about the matter. If you're served with a subpoena to appear for the trial, you should comply with it by appearing at the courthouse on the date and time specified.
