grand larceny by 16 year old

my son is 16 and was charged with breaking and enering and grand larceny on 1/3/09 and this is his first offense and court is 4/3/09, what is going to happen to him, we can't afford a lawyer, i need to know what we are facing. we just got the papers this past friday and only have 2 weeks. please help and thank you.

Assuming that he is being tried as a juvenile and not as an adult, he will be found not guilty or guilty on your next ct date of the two felonies with which he has been charged. Depending on your son's record and the facts of the case, it may be possible to get the charges reduced to misdemeanors or ultimately dismissed if he does community service or possibly spend some time in detention. There are a wide range of options and potential outcomes in juvenile court and you need to get your son's lawyer to run through them with you.
