are you reliable for any illegal items sent to you in the mail if you name is not on them and you have no idea where it came from but you opened it cuz you were curious an can the cops open your mail an find something in there that shouldnt be an then tape it back up an steak you out to see if you accept it or not

Yes this is the way postal crimes are usually handled. The post office or other carier detects the illegal item (drugs, pornography), calls the law who reseals and makes a controlled delivery. Happens all the time.

If you did not intend the delivery and are offended by it's contents the proper behavior is to call the police immediately to intervene. Failure to do so looks like you expected whatever was delivered.

Beware - people you know can set it up so that the item they expect are delievered to someone thet know so they can retrieve it without the risk.

If charged, say nothing and call a good lawyer immediately.
