Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Mom wants to see me go to jail

I wrote a check to my mom that returned, for 26000, due to the fact the wire transfer I was supposed to get to cover the check never came. My mom now wants to see me put in jail for this returned check even though I told her the reason for the returned check. I did not get anything out of the returned check so can she sue me? She is also saying I commited fraud, on some documents I gave her as an example, plus claiming I used these papers to get money from her. She says her criminal lawyer is going to try and get me 15 yrs in prison..can she do that? Before she saw a lawyer she was threatening to damage our pool and vehicle. She does have a violent temper....she has sugared people's gas tanks, hit vehicles without telling people, and throws things when she doesn't get her way. She is very vendictive. She has went around to everyone in the neighborhood that I grew up in and told everyone I am a liar and a thief. She sends emails telling me she wishes I was dead or never born, swaring at me. She has been diagnoised as a manic depressive but still denies that is so and contributes her behavior as the fault of others. She is controlling, says one thing one day and another thing another day. Is there anything I can do to protect mysel

Re: Mom wants to see me go to jail

What you can do to protect yourself(or at least minimize the consequences)of this "mom from hell"

is to engage the services of a competent defense counsel to advise as to what you should do(if anything)----other than stay far out of Mom's way.

(Your excuse offered for the bouncing of the $26,000 dollar check is hugely lame .)
