how is guilt or innosence, of the perpitrator determined, when a child is molested, if it is long after the fact and there is no evidence?

Such a detrmination may no longer be possible if there is no credible evidence for the crime alleged other than, perhaps, the memories of the alleged victim retrieved, perhaps, by way of hypnosis or through other(possibly questionable) pyschological techniques.
