Re: son accused of rape

I am not sure what your question is in this, although it is obiously a very bad situation. Your son should certainly get a good criminal defense lawyer if you can afford it. He should check if he qualifies (financially) for a free court-appointed counsel and you should talk to the nearest legal aid society. (Ask the Clerk of Court office in your County).

Because he previously is on probation, any conviction will automatically result in jail time from the earlier charge in addition to any jail time from the current charge.

The charge sounds a little strange and I think it requires some careful investigatino.

Re: son accused of rape

Once you hire an attorney he can file a bond hearing although given the charge it will likely be a high bond if he gets a bond. Depending on the facts of the incident, your son may have a defense to the charge. You need to make sure you have a lawyer who will be focused on getting a good outcome for your son. If the rape charge goes away the probation violation will probably go away as well.
