Legal Question in DUI Law in Virginia

What is a ''Cinderella License''?

I am 18, have never been licensed but have had a learners permit for over a year. I recently got convicted on a felony charge involving a motor vehicle and received a DUI conviction which resulted in 12 months suspension of my driving priviliges. I need to attend college and work full time after I am released from rehab. I heard there is a restricted license called a ''cinderella license'' that I may be able to apply for through the court system. Can anybody tell me what it is and how to apply for it? Thank you.

Re: What is a ''Cinderella License''?

A so-called "Cinderella License" would be a restricted license which would allow a defendant convicted of DUI limited driving privileges in order to attend school, go to work, or carry out other important functions in his or her life which require that the person operate a motor vehicle.

However, if you've never had a valid driver's license in the first place, it's unlikely that you could now qualify for this limited driving

privilege but you might want to check with the attorney who surely must have represented you on the original DUI charge.
