Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

attorney fees

I have joint custody of my 8 year old son - I have physical custody - my ex and I are currently going through the court system to ammend visitation and child support - my ex has asked the courts to have me pay for his attorney fees - I did bring on the amendments, but we have had a continuance for 3 times already because he hasn't turned in the information he has been requested to do so reguarding his income - he has been denied this request by one judge and has appealed it to be brough in front of another judge - everyone has told me it is probably ridiculous that a judge would rule that I would have to pay for his attorney fees, but since he appealed it - it makes me wonder if there is a possibility - and if so what do you think the chances are of me actually having to pay for his attorney fees?

Re: attorney fees

Re: A diffent judge: this could be for "reconsideration" but more likely, and not knowing the facts, I speculate that the first just was JDR and the next judge will be Circuit.

Attorney fees: this will be determined, at least in part, by how meritorious your motions were but moreover by the relative ability of the parties to pay. I would add that failure to respond to proper discovery, where applicable, may become contempt of court and subject a party to various sanctions.
