Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My 12 year old son was placed in emergency group home for 45 day assessment. The reason being that he missed 6 days from school and principal said he was causing problems at school. My son was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder and is now on medication. He has never been away from me and as a result he keeps running away from group home. I am never told when he runs and as a result I'm scared that something may happen to him. I was wondering if there's anyway I might be able to get him back home and homeschool him.. This way I will know that he is safe.

I would advise allowing the 45 days to run its course and then filing a motion with the local J&DR Court having jurisdiction over the matter requesting that your son be allowed to return home.
