Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

my husband got charged with failure to appear on a child support case. He has been in jail since feb 22, 2011. His court date isnt until April 7. The lawyers assistant said that he could not get a purge bond. Can you tell me why not?

A bond, apparently, sufficient to purge him of a contempt

of court charge. Why not insist on speaking with the lawyer

rather than his or her assistant?
