Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Hi. Im living with my aunt who im not getting along with very well (im living with her because my mother passed away last year). She said she's willing to let me leave and live with someone else since this isn't working out so I decided I will be moving with my godmother and I will be 18 next year anyway so its not for long. So my question is can we just get temporary guardianship agreement forms signed and notarized or do we have to go to court for this?
