Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

prenuptial agreements

We reside in Virginia but will be getting married in North Carolina. Do I need a Virginia or a North Carolina prenuptial agreement or both?

Re: prenuptial agreements

The pre-nuptual agreement will be construed under whatever laws you agree on and the agreement calls for. With that in mind the choice is yours. The research will be to effect whichever state's laws benefit you the most. For that determination you need the services of a good domestic relations lawyer. Spend the money to get it done right.

Good luck.
