Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Hi i am in a situation with juvenille court of virginia.. basically have been served with a summons for court.. i live in north carolina 6 hours away from where court was held. I called and notified the clerk of court that i wasnt able to make it in due to car trouble..my license are suspended as result of non payment on child support... so a friend is my only way to court.. so having notified the judge i wasnt able to make it... he or she issued a contempt of court.... so my question is what would be the average purge amount on 14,000 child support....half is mostly interest that has built up.. i just now started getting on my feet and establishing my landscaping company.... what could be my options and outcome...how much can a purge payment be.....please help..

Probably, $14K to purge your record of this accumulation of unpaid child support unless

you can somehow persuade this court that it should be otherwise, i.e., a reduced amount.
