how long can an emplyee go with out paying their portion of medical deductions to keep insurance when on FMLA? When they return to work?

Would seem to depend upon the attitude of the employer

regarding this issue, i.e., whether the employer is willing to continue paying the employee's share of the premiums until s/he returns to work

(and thereupon requires that the employee begin reimbursing the employer

for the premiums paid in the employee's behalf)-----or not.

You should bear in mind that there is apparently nothing in the FMLA itself

( as far as I know)that obligates the employer to pay the employee's share of these insurance premiums while the employee is out on FMLA leave.
