Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

In September I let a friend borrow my laptop for an hour. She was supposed to return the laptop to me when later that night when she met me at my house. Instead she came to my house without my laptop leaving it in the front seat of another friends car. My laptop was stolen along with her wallet. The detectives have not been successful in finding any suspects. When I asked her how she was going to replace my laptop she told me she didnt have any money and it was not her fault. I tried taking the case to a TV court show be she refused to appear. When I tried asking her for her address so that I could file a small claims she refused to give it to me. I have no idea what to do and I am now about to be 3 months that I had to struggle doing school work without my laptop.

Keep digging for an address where this person can be served with papers for your small claims court case. No case can be filed until you have a valid address where she can be properly served with notice of your lawsuit.
