My son left in my custody a dog that he co owns with a friend. I want this dog to be neutered but the owners will not give consent.
Can I legally have this dog neutered without their consent?

No, you cannot (in my opinion) and you would appear well-advised
to return this animal to either your son or its co-owner (and in the very
same condition in which you received it).

Further comment: No, you cannot means, of course, without exposing
yourself to possible civil liability.
