Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Tenant refused to pay rent

I rented two bed room apartment in

Virginia and rented one room to a

friend because his credit history is so

bad that no apartment want to rent

him thier room. I later decided to add

his name to the lease but the

apartment management refused due to

his credit history. For the past three

months this guy told me he is in a

financial difficulty so he will pay me the

rent later. I traveled for a month and

when I returned, this guy has packed

all his belongings ad left the apartment

without paying me the three months

rent that he owes me. What action can

I take to get my money back. Thank

you.

Re: Tenant refused to pay rent

File your case in small claims court for the amount of the back rent that is due you.
