Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

A tree from city property (Virginia Beach) fell on my car during a thunderstorm last night. My car is totaled and undriveable. Is there any way to get compensation for the damage?

The city will likely deny responsibility for the damage under the facts described (apparently, act of God) but you could still call them up to find out where and how you could submit a claim and send it out and see what happens.

As Ole Clem Kadiddlehopper used to intone way back in the 20th Century: "Them that don't ask, (usually) don't get".
