Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Virginia

Unlicensed Driver Using Company Vehicle

My 19 year old son was involved in a traffic accident with an unlicensed driver, driving a construction company vehicle. My son's ticket was dismissed in court, but the other driver was found guilty of driving without a license. There were no personal injuries, but both vehicles were totaled. Do we have any legal recourse against the construction company for allowing an unlicensed driver to use their vehicle.
