If you marry an American citizen who happens to be incarcerated and then apply for a "Green Card", you will almost surely raise the suspicions of the immigration folks(USCIS)that the marriage is fraudulent on its face and, that it was done for the purpose of allowing you to obtain permanent resident status in the United States and, consequently, you in all likelihood will have to undergo a very intensive personal interview, answering a variety of questions in order to convince them that their suspicions are ill-founded and that your marriage was not effected for fraudulent purposes.

Whether you will succeed in this endeavor, I would surmise, is highly problematical.
