Legal Question in Immigration Law in Virginia

i was brought to the us when i was five on my dads student visa. the visa expired and i am still in the us. i am 20 now and all i know is the united states. is there a way for me to get get permanent residency or apply for a student visa WITHOUT going back to Nigeria?

You should arrange for a consultation with an attorney who's conversant with American immigration law and procedure. It may that if one or both of your parents became American citizens, that you yourself may already have a derivative claim to such citizenship which would obviate your need to first apply for lawful permanent residency (green card).

The attorney should be able to assist in figuring it all out.
