Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Virginia

went to court ended up having to pay, so sent the attonery a check for the defendant...the atty lost the check and wants me to stop payment and reissue new check. If I do not follow thru what are the probable consequences??? Thank you.

Risk is that you end up back in court, for no good reason. If there is a charge for stop pay, have attorney agree to pay it and any other costs incurred.
