Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

My son Dakota is 13. He has been having problems in school with bullies. The first time Dakota got hit, it wasn't bad. Yesterday Dakota was carried out of the school on a stretcher and transported to the hospital with a bloody nose and a concussion. The police officer later came to the hospital and spoke with me, and informed me that the school knew this attack was going to occur and did very little to prevent it. What are my legal options?

Contact all school authorities who may share some responsibilty for

this attack, including the principal and superintendent of schools (if there is one)

to determine their respective position(s) on the matter and what they intend to do to prevent such attacks from occurring in the future.

Then, at such point after you've made your inquiries, if you haven't received response(s) which you consider satisfactory, and/or, Heaven forfend, if more such attacks may have, perhaps, occurred in the interim, contact an attorney in your area who handles civil litigation matters for further advice as to your possible legal options.
