Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Title for the house

Hi, we had the Quit Claim Deed being signed, taking the 3rd person off our title for the house. We also had it recorded at the County Court. But we would like to have new title stating just our names(now we have the old title with all 3 names and the Quit Claim Deed with a sticker on it with instrument # as a proof that it was recorded). How can we get the new title?

Thank You!

Re: Title for the house

The "title" to the house is really the same thing as the Deed. The deed states who has the title to the house.

You simply have to go to the Clerk of the Court in the County, and find the deed records section and ask them to get you an official certified copy.

Any land title company or attorney who handles real property matters should be able to prepare a new title document for you.
